As tutor and co-tutor, I have followed MA and PhD theses at “L’Orientale” University of Naples, the University of Bologna, the University of Tehran and the University of Sydney. The subjects were either philological or archaeological, ranging from Elamite to Achaemenid and also late-antique Iran. I have also acted as MA and PhD thesis examiner, referee and scholarship nominer for the Université catholique de Louvain, the University of Athens, the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World (New York), the University of Sydney and the Macquarie University (Sydney). I have acted as peer reviewer for the journals Mythos, Annali (‘L’Orientale’), Topoi Orient Occident, Poznan Studies in Contemporary Linguistics, Journal of the Economic and Social History of the Orient, Journal of Near Eastern Studies, Journal of Maritime Archaeology, Oriens Antiquus, Sefer Yuḥasin (‘L’Orientale’), East and West (ISMEO, Roma), Iranica Antiqua and other miscellaneous proceedings publications.
PROJECTS
- Member of the DARIOSH project (Digital Achaemenid Royal Inscription Open Schema Hypertext) as specialist of Achaemenid Elamite and Late Babylonian languages. The project, directed by prof. Adriano V. ROSSI (ISMEO), aims at the study of the Achaemenid inscriptions in Old Persian, Elamite and Babylonian in collaboration with the Musée du Louvre, the National Museum of Iran (Tehran) and the Parsa-Pasargadae Research Foundation. The project has been funded four times as a National Interest Research Program (2006-2007, 2008-2009, 2011-2012, 2015-2016).
- Member of the Italian Ethno-Linguistic Mission in Tajikistan directed by prof. Antonio C.D. PANAINO (University of Bologna, seat of Ravenna) and devoted to the study of the Yaghnob valley and of the yaghnobi language.
