Curriculum vitae of Maria Alessandra Giovannini
Maria Alessandra Giovannini is Associate Professor of Spanish Literature.
Maria Alessandra Giovannini currently teaches Spanish Literature and Contemporary Catalan Literature at the University of Naples 'L'Orientale', in the Department of Literary, Linguistic and Comparative Studies.
Her fields of research are contemporary Spanish literature, the "Siglo de Oro" theatre, the poetry of the '27 and '50 generation of poets; women's fiction and LGTBQ+; literary translations from Spanish; Catalan fiction; testimonial fiction in the autobiographies of political prisoners during the Spanish Civil War, Franco's regime and the state terrorism of the last Southern Cone dictatorships.
Since 2014, he has been in charge of the convention between the University of Naples 'L'Orientale' and the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (Argentina).
Her scholarly contributions include more than sixty articles, two critical editions of comedies by Lope de Vega y Carpio (Lope de Vega, La hermosa Alfreda, critical edition edited by Maria Alessandra Giovannini, in IX Partes de las Comedias de Lope de Vega Carpio, coord. Marco Presotto, Barcelona, Milenio-Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona, 2007, vol. II, pp. 929-1046; Lope de Vega y Carpio, La pobreza estimada comedia famosa, critical edition and preliminary study by Maria Alessandra Giovannini, Ariccia (Rome), AracneEditrice, 2020.
