Curriculum Vitae
Ordinary Professor at the University of Naples “L’Orientale”, where she teaches Contemporary Literatures in English. Her fields of research are Deconstruction, écriture feminine, Cultural, Postcolonial and Visual Studies, Interculturality. Her scientific activities, resulting in a series of publications and the establishment of research networks at international level, focus on the academic study of themes related to World Literatures, which includes Anglophone postcolonial literature, and global and transnational writing in English. The perspectives of these researches apply the interdisplinary approaches of Cultural Studies, which require the confrontation of the areas of writing and theory, literature and philosophy, literature and performative and visual culture.
In particular, her areas of interest identify with the thought of modernity, the critique of representation in the work of historical English and international vanguards, the foundational contribution of Gender Studies, nowadays in the recent development of feminist theories on the Anthropocene such as eco-feminism and hydrofeminism.
In the area of postcolonial studies, her research concentrates on the history of colonialism, the
rewritings of the imperial canon, the creative, critical and theoretical deconstruction of the appropriation-ex/appropriation of the slave carried out by the radical contemporary black
study.
Her academic production is diversified in the analysis of a range of textualities, authorial poetics, and interpretative methodologies that range from poststructuralism to postmodernism, with an interest towards the question of translation, in theoretical, practical and inter-semiotic terms, at the crossing, that is, of media such as theatre, cinema, performance and arts.
At the intersection of human and social disciplines lie her investigation of cultural difference, the diaspora experience, and the aesthetic exploration of the question of contemporary female creation. Finally, her researches consider the public impact of their results, developing in the area of the Ministerial ‘Terza Missione’ and ‘Public Engagement’ , as it is recognized in the project of the digital archive “Matri-Archive of the Mediterrenan”- M.A.M. -(http://www.matriarchiviomediterraneo.org/en/)- that was established during her direction of the European research “Performance in the Mediterranean Region”
