The essay focuses on applying the concepts of frontier and border identity to a novel by the Catalan writer Rafael Argullol, Transeuropa (1998). The text describes the different stages of a journey, both real and ideal, individual and collective at the same time, which is configured as a metaphorical and discursive space in which ethnic and cultural identities question inherited visions and open up to new perspectives.
