abstract:
This paper focuses on interactional discourse markers in web-mediated Discourse. This
investigation will focus on a diamesic variety: Brazilian web-mediated academic speech. The aim of this
analysis is to reveal a certain mixture of written and spoken language in Specialized Discourse (even when it
is planned) and to outline the presence of a continuum between technical-scientific and nonstandard variety
as regards Brazilian Portuguese. After an analysis of discourse markers based on scientific literature about
them, our results are presented. The outcomes show that interactional DMs are preferentially employed in
the Brazilian web-mediated Specialized Discourse characterized by less stylistic monitoring control.
