Abstract:
This research wants to show if there are legal instruments more favourable for women’s access to a political career. In fact, one factor that contributes to the underrepresentation of women in elected positions could be the electoral system.
Specifically, it will be important to look into which countries women are more than men into Parliament and how electoral mechanisms affect women’s political position.
Finally, the research considered whether changing the manner (with sanctions) in which the statute law provides gender equality quota can have impact women’s political access
