Why East Asia is a different story? National elites and international alliances

In the process of globalization income polarization has increased within and among countries. In a number of East Asian countries have, however, the increasing income inequality was accompanied by a strong poverty reduction and a remarkable catching up with the industrialized economies. This text analyses the reason for this peculiar East Asian performance and suggests that the motivating factors have been geopolitics, national strategies based on the developmental state and nature of the regional productive order
