My essay aims to show what role, Giovan Battista Manso, a seventeenth-century scholar, reserves for Hermes the Greek-Egyptian sage in the dialogues of Paradoxes, Erocallia and in the unpublished Encyclopedia, which we can now read in Giovanni De Vita's transcription. The unique exegesis will allow us to reconstruct another chapter of myth, Hermetic Symbolism (Hermetic Imagery) and the history of Christian Hermeticism in the modern age.
