Compendioso diario del ritorno che faccio in Europa (1723-24) / Concise Journal of My Return to Europe (1723-24)

On the occasion of the three hundredth anniversary of Matteo Ripa's return from China, the volume presents the transcription of his travel Journal unpublished text relating to his return journey, until his arrival in Naples in November 1724. The transcription is annotated, with explanatory images, together with the English translation. There are also some useful appendices, dedicated to the passport obtained by Ripa from the Qing authorities, the list of all the objects he brought with him and the narration of the sad story of the Jesuit Father Morao, his antagonist.
