After attending the course and/or studying the texts listed in the syllabus and bibliography, the student is expected to acquire a critical understanding of both the main topics of the History of Modern Italy—as outlined in the most recent textbooks—and the themes selected as the monographic part of the course.
Both for attending the course and for approaching the study of the texts listed in the bibliography, it is useful and appropriate for the student to have some familiarity with the main topics of Modern History, which are typically studied in the penultimate year of upper secondary school.
The course will be delivered exclusively through traditional lectures, without the use of software such as PowerPoint. There will be no practical exercises, laboratory work, or seminar sessions involving student participation. During the course, attending students will be provided with teaching materials (texts, sources, informational notes) related to the specific topics covered in the lectures.
