I am a postdoctoral research fellow at L'Orientale focusing on language documentation/description and linguistic typology. I am currently documenting Konomala, an undescribed Oceanic language of New Ireland in Papua New Guinea. The project aims for a long-lasting record of Konomala, its oral literature, culture, and ecological knowledge through the creation of an audio-visual corpus. I previously documented and wrote a comprehensive grammar of Tiang, a closely related Oceanic language of New Ireland, during my PhD at Central Queensland University in Australia.
I am passionate about the languages and cultures of the Pacific region and Asia. My current typological work is centred on topics related to the noun phrase, classifiers, and registers. I am also interested in the interaction of language and culture, and music.
