“Are you actually gay?” Main criticalities in the protection of lgbt refugees within the European Union

The article deals with the international protection of SOGI (sexual orientation and gender identity) asylum seekers within the European Union. The aim is to analyse the major critical issues that arise with regard to the recognition of refugee status in these cases, with a particular focus on the differences in European State practices and the problematic issue of assessing the credibility of the asylum seeker.
