Abstract:
the issue of protection of religious minorities in Pakistan dates back to the foundation of the State. Constitutional provisions are not adequate to offer full protection to religions other than Islam; some groups (such as Ahmadiyya) are under the pressure of discriminatory legislation; other religious communities suffer from violence from muslim extremist and cannot count on State protection or justice. Nontheless sometimes the Judiciary (mostly the Supreme Court) and the Legislative power (mostly at regional level) try to correct some of the most evident problems, emphasizing the need for peaceful coexistence among different religious communities
