O concepție mesianică asupra Eternului feminin în avangarda românească

Academic Article
Publication Date:
2021
abstract:
Starting from the messianic idea in Judaism, this article intends to demonstrate how the figure of the Eternal feminine becomes a principle of regeneration and access to knowledge in the works of some Jewish writers of the Romanian avant-garde, such as Tristan Tzara, Geo Bogza, Gherasim Luca, Benjamin Fundoianu and Paul Celan. These authors have given ample space to the element of strangeness, being a specific trait of Judaism, which derives from their essential and original condition of “Heimatlosigkeit”. Precisely by virtue of the lack of a homeland, they were able to recognize the singularity and the typical otherness of the feminine that has in common with the stranger an unknown history that can never be totally unfolded, since it enjoys an ontology that will remain enigmatic forever.
