Mersa/Wadi Gawasis in its Regional Setting

The article deals with the results a regional territorial study of the hinterland of Mersa/Wadi Gawasis, the Pharaonic Middle Kingdom harbour on the Red Sea. Remarks on the tracks leading to the site, on the distribution of fresh water sources and on the mineral ressources, as well as on the occurrence of ancient sites and rock inscriptions in the hinterland of the site are proposed.
