Istolkovanie motivov iz Ekkleziasta v XVIII veke: Vol'ter v perevodach Cheraskova i Karamzina

This is a comparative analysis of M. Cheraskov’s and N. Karamzin’s translations of Voltaire’s Précis de l’Ecclésiaste. The comparison highlights the Eighteenth century idea of translation, conceived as an interpretation and elaboration of the original text. The article includes the critical edition of the Pocherpnytye mysli iz Ekkleziasta, unpublished since the Nineteenth century, and pays also attention to the previous editions of the work.
