Romano Guardini e Hoelderlin

In his 1939 extensive work on Hölderlin (a publication revised in
1955), the theologian Romano Guardini interprets the poetic and literary corpus
of the Swabian author as both an existential and a phenomenological interrogation;
unlike other contemporary thinkers (especially Heidegger), who have often
insisted on the broad philosophical meaning of Hölderlin’s word, Guardini’s
position is much more interested in the dialogue of the poetic soul with itself,
placing in close relation poetry and existence as such. The article focuses on this
position, also referring to the renewed Italian translation of Hölderlin’s works
published by Morcelliana in 2014.
