abstract:
This article aims to demonstrate how the works of Ovid hold its cultural effect in Romanian contemporary culture as happens in Marin Mincu’s novel, The death in Tomis and in Robert Eugen Popa’s film, Veni, vidi, fugi. In Mincu’s novel is analyzed the tragic character Medea in her relationship with main character’ sublime sacrificial vocation, whereas in Popa’s film is mostly underlined the subversive influence of the language against to dominant and repressive powers of totalitarian regimes
