The launch of a National Strategy for Inner Areas, starting in 2014, reopens the debate on a part of the Italian national territory characterized by isolation, remoteness and development gap. It is a subject on which return to discuss for a better understanding of Italian geography, in terms of analytical methodology, territorial definition and development projects.
