abstract:
The article deals with the burial customs of Ialysos (Rhodes) from the late 10th until the early 7th century BC, in order to understand the changes of the local society and the trades. Ialysos is an "open" community, which is chacacterized by close relationships with the Eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean, through the exchanges and probably the presence of Levantine immigrants, which might have given way to a local production of perfumes.
