Abstract:
Belief in the fact that human beings can turn into wolves contains both the profound elements of pre-Neolithic animistic ideas, but also the element of conflict between the free (albeit animal) and civilized world. It is therefore a unity of opposites, where one element can not exist without the other, and which, in various forms and without the clear symbolism of the wolf in contemporary society, is likely to persist.
