Nuove acquisizioni intorno alla storia della miniatura in Etiopia. Materiali dall’Archivio Provinciale dei Cappuccini Lombardi e dalla Biblioteca Francescana di Milano.

The Archivio Provinciale dei Cappuccini Lombardi and the Biblioteca Francescana di Milano own two significant funds of Ethiopian manuscripts, which are the objects of the present research. Particularly, five objects proved to be interesting both for the philologist and the art historian, among which a Dǝrsanä Mika’el (APCL 191 E 004) originally belonging to the Catholic Mission of Kärän (Eritrea), and a Maḫletä ṣǝge (APCL 191 E 001) containing one of the most extended cycles of Ethiopian illuminations ever done (75 images).
