abstract:
The Greek language used by the Jews in the Hellenistic and Roman period is often called "Jewish Greek". This term was especially used in reference to the Septuagint and New Testament language, lexically and syntactically influenced by Hebrew. Many scholars, however, have questioned the existence of a proper Jewish Greek dialect.
