CULTURAL AND IDEOLOGICAL DIMENSIONS OF CRIME SERIES IN EUROPE AND AMERICA. SOCIO-SPATIAL TENSIONS OF TERRITORY, BETWEEN FICTION AND REALTY.
This contribution analyzes the crim series and especially thei tendency to tell about landscapes and to witness the socio-poitical tensions which, by sure, appear in different urban and rural areas and can shape territories and social contexts. In a gepographical perspective, we selected series which refer to a "reale" territory. Territroy in which stories take pkace, narrative is developed and characters' identy and social status is built.
For the North American context, it's The Wire series takin place in Baltimore, a city tahat with a wide range of characters (not only plicemen and cirmilans) plays the role of symbol of the contradictions of American urban context of the new millennium. The second, Midsomes Murders, contrat for the difference of continent but also for his immersion in English countryside, ao riche in small towns, and emphasizes the performative dimension of some (tv) films.
