Abstract:
Teaching modern languages on ancient roots is a handbook that includes three important subjects, such as the role of the theatre in the past, the theatre today and the theatre in the future. My main purpose is to connect linguistic with cultural heritage within the theatre of ancient Messene and to show how important is to maintain it. In the end, Luigi Pirandello's translation of the short story “Il capretto nero” set at the Greek ruins near Agrigento provides an important link to the beauty and splendor of ancient Greek civilization.
