The book approaches the period of Tamerlane (Timur-i Lang 1370-1405) with a particular attention for the strategies of Timurid propaganda. Various sources are taken under consideration: Yazdi and Shami's Zafarnames; the Ghazavat-e Hendustan of Ghiyath al-Din 'Ali Yazdi; the Bazm o Razm of 'Aziz Astarabadi; Ta'rikh-e Mobarakshahi of Yahya Serhindi and other chronicles of the period.
