Abstract:
In search of the agora of sparta. once obtained, thanks to recent studies, the exact position
of the agora of sparta, in this paper two monuments are taken in examination. except for the so
called roman stoa (in fact a great retaining wall), they are the only two buildings led to light,
even if partially, in this area. The first one is the circular building investigated by Waldstein in
1892, that here I suggest to identify with the famous Skias of sparta, based also on the results obtained
by the eforia of laconia in 2011 after some cleaning operations of the monument. The second
building considered in this paper is the one partially excavated by Ch. Christou in 1962, which,
in my opinion, could be identified with the stoa persike, as it could be assumed thanks to the probable
chronology (5th century bCe) and several analogies with the Stoa of the athenians in delphi
