Syllabus

Course Objectives

The educational path of the teaching aims to provide students with the knowledge and methodological tools necessary for oral and written production, textual analysis and translation of texts. At the end of the educational path, the students' skills and abilities correspond approximately to: I year A1+; II year A2+/B1; III year B1/B2 (The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, Learning, teaching, assessment, CEFR). It is possible to carry out Erasmus+ study periods or to obtain grants made available by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) in the main cities of Poland (Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw, Poznań, Katowice, Łódź, Toruń etc.). The stay in Poland with attendance of language courses on site facilitates the consolidation of preparation and can allow the achievement of high levels of competence.


Course Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for the first year. The course is aimed primarily at Italian and/or foreign beginners, but also at native Polish speakers.


Teaching Methods

Classes and exercises, seminars with foreign teachers, teaching with the use of multimedia supports.


Assessment Methods

The exam is divided into two parts: a written test preparatory to the oral exam; during the lessons and exercises, ongoing checks are possible. The written test includes dictation, grammar exercises, text comprehension, composition, translation from and into Polish.


Language in which the exam is held: Italian and Polish.

Contents

1st year: brief notes on the history and evolution of the Polish language, alphabet and phonological, orthographic and morphological elements; declension of nouns, adjectives and pronouns; numerals; verbal aspect (imperfective and perfective); infinitive; conjugations and verb tenses (present, past and future); conditional mood. 2nd and 3rd year: in-depth study of the theoretical notions of the Polish language (morphology and syntax) in correspondence with the theoretical and practical skills acquired during the 1st year. The main educational objective is the improvement of communication skills and those of comprehension and production (oral and written), with particular reference to everyday life situations. Literary texts, press articles, song lyrics, advertisements, comics etc. will be used, with particular attention to texts that characterise contemporary Polish culture.

Starting from the 2025/26 academic year, you can be obtained 9 ECTS for the first year course (new regulation - 12/9/6) and 8 ECTS for the second year.
