Course Objectives
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
The ability to expound and rework the themes of applied ethics and of intercultural communication with reference to issues concerning the human condition in our contemporary times, marked by a cultural, social, psychological and civil crisis, represent the main expected learning outcomes. At the end of the course the student should be able to critically discuss the examination textbooks, making them interact with each other and showing, through connections, the ability to construct an autonomous judgment on issues concerning the human condition in contemporary times. In addition, the educational objectives of the Course include the maturation by the students of an original and autonomous working methodology. These expected learning outcomes are closely related to the objectives of the Linguistic and Cultural Mediation CdS, where ethical reflection is considered a fundamental practice for the training of the Cultural Mediator.
ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
The students should be able to apply the knowledge gained within the Course in different work and life contexts, in such a way as to make reflection around the human condition in the contemporary world a decisive component in the overall construction of one's person and professionalism as a cultural mediator. Specifically: knowing how to organize acquired knowledge functionally to a communicative purpose.
ADDITIONAL EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
Autonomy of judgment:
The ability to develop autonomous and critical judgment particularly on issues related to the interaction of cultures and their original reworking within extended and different contexts are to be considered as fundamental objectives and among the most important expected learning outcomes.
Communication Skills:
The students should be able to show specific communicative skills, both in the sense of an ability to independently and critically articulate discourse, and in the sense of the development of a specific language and appropriate terminology in situations of multicultural interaction.
Learning skills:
The achievement of an adequate autonomy of judgment, based on the ability to apply the knowledge gained even in different contexts, and specific communicative and linguistic skills are to be considered as a fundamental moment for the development by the students of a cognitive and critical independence, based on learning skills to pursue further levels of education, recall prior knowledge and improve expressive skills.
