Communicative skills: The student should be able to use the Spanish language fluently in various social and academic communicative situations, except technical ones. Course Prerequisites

In order to tackle the course content, it is important to have language skills corresponding to an A2+/B1 level of Spanish at the start of the teaching activities, or at the start of independent study for those not attending.

PROPAEDEUTICITY. Students enrolled on the MC degree course, please note that it is not possible to sit the Spanish language 2 examinations without first having passed the Spanish language 1 examination

Teaching Methods

The teaching consists of a 54-hour course and annual language exercises. The teaching activities are organised in frontal and interactive lectures in Spanish during the first semester, and in weekly exercises (4 hours), conducted by the CELs (Collaborators and Language Experts), which form an integral part of the course.

During the lectures and tutorials, practical activities such as exercises, group work and case analyses, based on authentic materials provided in the classroom, are planned.

Due to the specific nature of the teaching, attendance of the course and exercises, although not compulsory, is highly recommended.

Assessment Methods

VERIFICATION OF LEARNING

The examination consists of a language assessment test, consisting of a test of practical language skills relating to the course content and language exercises, and an oral test. In order to be admitted to the oral part, it is necessary to have passed the language assessment part.

A pilot test is available on the Moodle platform to practise for the Spanish Language II language assessment test, which precedes the oral interview scheduled in each call for applications indicated in the official University calendar.

You can access the classroom to familiarise yourself with the contents of the test and to learn how to use the platform. On the home page you will find further information about the content and assessment methods.

Further information on how the language test is conducted on the Moodle platform and on the organisation of the oral calendar can be found in the section USEFUL RESOURCES -> ‘teaching materials’ on the lecturer's notice board.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

The oral examination consists of at least three questions and the assessment is based on linguistic competence, knowledge of the content covered during the course and the ability to analyse texts. The assessment criteria used to verify the knowledge and skills acquired are: completeness of information, coherence, correctness and fluency of language, correct use of terminology, ability to apply the knowledge acquired.

The final assessment is expressed in thirtieths.
