The series of seminars, realised in synergy between the French and Dutch language departments, following the wide participation in the five previous editions (from a.y. 2017/2018 to 2021/2022) intends to offer students of three-year degree courses a panorama of the linguistic, cultural and literary richness and complexity of Belgium, with two very distinct languages and literatures, Flemish and French, that interact with each other with a sometimes surprising dynamic and with numerous implications, not only literary and cultural, but also social and political, without forgetting the role of German, the country's third official language.
In the course of the various lectures, given by lecturers both internal to the university and by external and foreign specialists, the analysis of a number of particularly significant authors from the French and Flemish-speaking areas will be proposed, giving an understanding of the cultural, literary and linguistic variety represented by Belgium.
The seminar series is primarily aimed at students on three-year degree programmes who have French or Dutch as their language of study.
The series of seminars, coordinated by Professors Centrella and Paris, includes several lectures by professors from within the university as well as external and foreign specialists from the French-speaking and Flemish-speaking areas, who will provide an understanding of the cultural, literary and linguistic variety represented by Belgium.
At the end of the seminar cycle, students interested in acquiring 2 CFUs for Other Educational Activities must submit a report, which will be assessed by the lecturers in charge of the project, who will then provide a certificate to be shown to the ‘Other Activities Committee’ of their course of study on the dates on which it meets to carry out the minutes.
