Abstract:
Patriotism and historiography in Balkan Slavia
The study is dedicated to the historiographical work of the Bulgarian monk Paisij Hilendarski, Istorija slavěnobolgarskaja (1762), in relation to the works of the Serbian Jovan Rajić and the Croatian Pavao Ritter Vitezović. The researcher proposes Her reflections on the cultural history of the Balkan Slavs, in particular on the processes of memory and of ethno-cultural identity building in the different communities. Relevant attention is devoted to the moments of contact among the different traditions (Croatian, Serbian, Bulgarian and Russian) in the process of identity building for the Slavs of that area where communities were included in different political and cultural contexts.
