Teaching Methods
Frontal lectures supported by PowerPoint presentations will introduce, in a gradual and structured way, the fundamental features of the Vietnamese language and the main cultural aspects addressed in the Program. Active student participation is an integral part of the learning process: during the lessons, guided pronunciation activities, listening exercises, and short oral and written productions on familiar topics will be proposed. Additional activities will reinforce basic morphosyntactic structures, along with practical exercises aimed at the correct use of diacritical marks through digital tools.
A significant part of the learning process is also devoted to autonomous work, supported by supplementary materials provided by the instructor: phonetic practice sheets, authentic texts of increasing difficulty, targeted grammatical reinforcement exercises, and digital resources for accurate Vietnamese writing. These materials allow students to continue practicing beyond class hours, progressively developing autonomy in their learning and confidence in their use of the language.
Assessment Methods
VIETNAMESE LANGUAGE II-III
The final exam consists of a written and an oral component. The written test serves as a prerequisite for the oral exam and includes listening comprehension, grammar exercises, short translations, a brief composition, and the reading of short passages followed by comprehension questions. These questions may be both open-ended and multiple-choice.
The oral exam involves conversations on linguistic and cultural topics covered during the course, questions on the Vietnamese language, and the reading and analysis of a Vietnamese text with attention to morphological and syntactic structures.
Exam language: Italian and Vietnamese.
The evaluation will consider students’ overall preparation, attendance and active participation in class activities, commitment to studying the entire syllabus, and foundational knowledge of the aspects of Vietnamese culture addressed in the course. Additional criteria include accuracy of pronunciation, listening and interaction skills, and the ability to read and translate passages using vocabulary and grammatical structures previously studied, as well as apply them to similar contexts.
VIETNAMESE LITERATURE I - II
The final exam for Vietnamese Literature is an oral assessment focused on the reading, translation, and analysis of the texts studied during the course. Students are also expected to demonstrate a basic understanding of the historical and cultural background of Vietnamese literature.
