Obiettivi Formativi

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

This course aims to equip students with the historical, analytical and methodological tools necessary for critically examining the key processes and fundamental dynamics that have characterised developments in international politics since the end of the Cold War.

Acquiring this knowledge will enable students to evaluate the political, economic, and security issues that are currently shaping the international landscape.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING

Students must demonstrate that they have understood, assimilated and critically reworked the main historical processes and issues that have characterised international politics from 1989 to the present day. This should be demonstrated with particular reference to the fundamental tenets of the main state actors' foreign policies, the emergence of new global and regional actors, and the new dimensions of international security.

FURTHER LEARNING OUCOMES

Autonomy of judgement:

By the end of the course, students should be able to demonstrate critical autonomy of judgement when analysing issues related to the history of contemporary international politics, as well as the most relevant political and security issues currently facing the international community.

Communication skills:

Students will be required to demonstrate their ability to present and critically discuss issues and problems related to the history of contemporary international politics and the most pertinent political and security concerns currently facing the international community.

Learning skills:

By the end of the course, students should have developed effective study methods and learning skills, as well as the ability to independently revisit the topics covered. The knowledge and methodology acquired should enable students to consolidate their learning skills more broadly, allowing them to undertake further studies with a high degree of autonomy.
