R4Rural aims at achieving the following Objectives:
OBJ 1. Build knowledge base about small rural communities that are at risk because of depopulation and climate change.
OBJ 2. Build theoretical model of resilience in this context, using the Quadruple Helix.
OBJ 3. Co-create a methodology for Living Lab events using our Resilience Framework with HE students and stakeholders,
and put it into practice.
OBJ 4. Define and disseminate best practices for building resilience in rural communities at risk because of climate change.
They will be implemented through the following activities:
1. Research/consultation activities, including case studies, to draft R4Rural Resilience Framework.
2. Interact with local communities to test Framework
3. Prepare R4Rural methodology for Living Lab Events using Resilience Framework with HE students in rural communities.
4. Trial methodology at 4 Events
5. Roll out methodology to 4 Living Lab Events with HE students in each partner region, collect data, refine Framework
6. Publish Framework, Training Package and Handbook
7. Disseminate results
R4Rural will produce a robust, tested Resilience Framework for understanding how rural communities develop resilience
against twin risks of depopulation and Climate Change.
It will devise, trial and perfect methodology for Living Lab Events involving HE students.
It will publish Training Package and Handbook for these.
It will generate recommendations for policy makers and communities on how to promote resilience to CC in rural
communities.
