This contribution in honour of Christian J. Robin summarizes the state
of the art regarding the architectural study of the Great Church of Abrāha
at Ṣanʿāʾ. Following a paper by Christian J. Robin “La grande église d’Abraha
à Ṣanʿāʾ : quelques remarques sur son emplacement, ses dimensions et
sa date”, published in 2015 in Serie Semitica Antiqua 3, that provided a
suggestion to the definition of the dimension and proportion of the famous
building, a hypothetical reconstruction of the church is proposed after a
comparison with the Christian architectural models of Eastern Arabia.
