The Old Norse translation of the homily "De falsis diis" by Aelfric is one of the text on miscellaneous subjects contained in "Hauksbók". This article compares the translation with its Old English original, pointing out the reason why precisely this homily was inserted in the Old Norse treatise and transformed into a chapter.
