First scientific analysis of the Practica, a short and difficult Hebrew treatise attributed to Shabbetay Donnolo (10th cent.), dealing with various patologies and remedies. Special attention here is paid to its sections concerning melancholy and maniac-depressive syndromes, tracing their origins to some pre-Salernitan texts.
