Old Iranian

The contribution analyses the Avestan and Old Persian constructions that realise comparison and gradation. The relevant passages are analysed and classified according to a typological framework developed by Götz Keydana, Wolfgang Hock and Paul Widmer. Some reflections on the typological implications of the general picture offered by the observed constructions are proposed.
