Sabinus ‘the Hippocratic’: His Exegetical Method in the Commentaries on Hippocrates

The paper deals with some characteristics of the method applied by the Hippocratic commentator Sabinus (1st century AD) in writing his commentaries, through the analytical reading of fragments of his work which have survived in indirect tradition. The most immediate comparison is established with the similar work of Galen, who is our main source, and in his commentaries frequently expresses harsh remarks on Sabinus and his pupils.
