abstract:
This study is focused on the influence Nestorianism (Jingjiao) had on Ongut people between Jin and Yuan dynasties. The second half of the paper, through Chinese and Western sources, is an analysis of the figure of Ongut King George (who died in 1298-99), and of the ties he had with Italian Father John of Montecorvino.
