The essay examines the depiction of Italian American servicemen who fought in the Italian Campaign of 1943-1945 in Hollywood films set during World War II, spanning from the war years to the present day. By exploring this often-overlooked subject, the study sheds light on how the U.S. film industry perceived and represented one of the largest ethnic groups to contribute to the Allied victory over the Axis powers.
