Abstract: The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) has undergone significant
geopolitical changes since 2011, both at a domestic level and in terms of their reverberations
on the regional level. The region is one of the most inter-penetrated
regions worldwide in terms of security interdependence. The article focuses on Gulf
foreign policy since 2011 and the increased salience of the Gulf subcomplex in
North Africa and the Levant.
