Sapientia fidei, la via che porta alla salvezza: una visione ismailita,

Focusing on some passages that belong to the Qarmatian tradition, this study investigates the role Ismailism assigned to knowledge as means of increasing faith so as to gain salvation. A very important role is recognized to philosophy (falsafa) that, given the soteriological purpose of Ismaili teachings, must be understood in the Socratic-Pythagorian sense of "purification of soul". Interpreted as wisdom (hikma), it is the exclusive prerogative of those who are supported by the divine inspiration that let muslim become an nspired believer.
