The study analyses online Summaries of EU legislation, specifically, Summaries of Directives on asylum and legal immigration, in order to investigate to what extent the new technologies have facilitated hybridization and genre-mixing in the transformation process.One main aim is to analyse the way the EU constructs legal discourse on asylum for a wider audience, focusing on strategies employed to simplify the source genre,i.e. the summarized Directives.
