Catalogue entry devoted to Domenico Gargiulo’s Adoration of the Shepherds, c. 1645, in the Gaudium Magnum Foundation collection. The entry examines the painting’s attribution, chronology, provenance and critical history, placing the work within Gargiulo’s early production and the context of Neapolitan painting of the 1640s, with particular reference to Bernardo Cavallino, Viviano Codazzi and Artemisia Gentileschi.
