Ritorno a Comisso. Materiali per un'edizione critica di "Gente di mare"

Abstract · Revisiting Comisso : Materials for a Critical Edition of "Gente di mare" · This essay offers a philological investigation into the genesis of Giovanni Comisso’s "Gente di mare". Working with unpublished or littleknown archival materials held by the Biblioteca Comunale di Treviso and the Fondazione Benetton Studi Ricerche, the author demonstrates that this collection of short stories is worthy of a critical edition. The study opens with a particular focus on two notebooks that contained the first autograph drafts of some of "Gente di mare"’s stories and closes with an appendix that includes the publication of that previously unedited text that was placed, with the title "Il mare. Mare-terra. Mare-cielo", in a “proemial” position in his 1925 notebook.
