Il pacifismo inquieto di Tarchetti e il moderatismo di Farina. Due scrittori alle prese con i circuiti dell'editoria milanese postunitaria

Tarchetti’s Restless Pacifi sm and Farina’s Moderation. The literary experience of two writers in the context of post-unifi cation Milanese publishing · The essay explores some aspects of the poetics of Tarchetti and Farina in light of the editorial strategies pursued by the two writers within the context of post-unification Milanese publishing. In particular, through the use of the tools of literary criticism and cultural sociology, the study investigates the different posture the two authors adopted toward the dominant culture. Although writing for a popular magazine such as « Emporio pittoresco », Tarchetti remains a nonconformist figure marked by a restless pacifism. On the other hand, Farina, image of the bourgeois writer par excellence, as director of the « Rivista Minima » demonstrates a notable and unexpected openness towards authors less aligned with the dominant ideals and tastes.
