Abstract:
Amedeo Di Francesco: The semantics of the search of soul: Reading Limpopo by Géza Szőcs
Between semeiology and semantics, the essay proposes an interpretation of the myths and the symbols of the Hungarian spiritual world in the ways they are revisited in Limpopo (2007), the most recent “novel” by Géza Szőcs, who is an eminent representative of the Hungarian literature of Transylvania. The message is clear; the brave creative fancy doesn’t hide it: the search of soul is the macrocosm where everyman is situated; the search of the lost home land is the microcosm where every Hungarian man found himself imprisoned by the history.
