Antico iranico - Elamico achemenide – 1979-2009

The academic study of Old Persian, Avestan and Achaemenid Elamite goes back to the nineteenth century. Of the three fields, Old Persian and Elamite become less visible since the 1980s. This, however, does not mean that there was no progress in since that time. Especially in Avestan studies, scholarship has advanced considerably in recent decades. The present article sketches three major subjects of innovative recent research activities. Topics include textual studies, the script, lexicology, etymology. Many considerations from the author on prospects for the study of the three fields are included.
